Flipping through 2016 work. One of a dozen pieces I designed for a new line. It borrowed a gusset from a wool tote we did last summer and had a series of triangular details up the side including that little stitch detail at the pocket edge and the triangular ear that made the analogue connection of the handle possible. The way this leather handles sits upon the edge is 👌🏻. Visit @carry.okubo to see more of the work.
Hey y'all and welcome to Sewspire!
I am SO EXCITED to show you how this beautiful bag comes together. In today's episode we are crafting the d-ring flap closure which will complete our Collaborative Patchwork Backpack.
For this portion of the project you will need two pieces of quilt weight cotton which measure 12" x 10", one piece of quilt weight cotton which measures 12" x 6" and another piece which measures 8" x 6", plus two 1.5" d-rings and one cut of quilt batting which measures 12" x 10". I am so grateful for this time we got to spend together collaborating on the design of this bag and want you to know I am so thrilled with how it turned out and am certainly going to cherish it! Thank you so much for your contributions and a special thank you to our friend Jo, on the other side of the world, who has been sewing right along with me! (Jo your bag is gorgeous and I am certain your sister is going to be over the moon with her birthday gift!) I will be back soon with a fresh series centered around home decor and slipcovers which I hope you will also enjoy.
Until we meet again... The creative genius in me salutes the creative genius in you!
