Yesterday, I was attempting some bulk cooking and two phrases were on repeat in my house, "I'm bored!" and "I'm hungry!" My response to boredom is typically, "find something to do, or I'll find something for you to do." I invited him to come cook with me, but his hunger was great, and he suggested making a fruit salad.
With minimal assistance from me, he had prepared his own snack. I was reminded again that having healthy choices in the fridge is vital and that my kids can do hard things. The beaming look on his face and pride made the mess worth it.
Recipe #2:Smoothie Bowl
Same ingredients as my previous post except use 1/2 cup coconut/almond milk instead of water.
Sprinkle with your favorite nuts,seasonings and fruit!

Added bonus: probiotics in the coconut yoghurt + prebiotics in banana + papain digestive enzyme in papaya = happy tums as well as tastebuds! 🍌 😄
Of course, you could fill your papaya half with almost any combo of fruits/nuts/seeds. Whatever floats your papaya boat ⛵😂
