INDICUD (2013) the experiential hip-hop project from industry veteran Kid Cudi. I still remember the night this record was released. Cudi was fresh off the first 2 man on the moon records, and had intended for this album to bridge the gap between them. I stayed up late as hell until it finally dropped. The first time I heard it I loved it, and every time since. Far from his most respected or praised work, INDICUD featured non traditional hip-hop elements and experimental instrumentals, the strangest of which were produced by Cudi himself. With control behind the mic and and the boards, Cudi gains greater traction to push his ideas and thoughts to the forefront of the listeners attention, overall connecting with the audience on a much more personal level than his ultra personal first two records. The record is also bursting with exceptional samples and features, the likes of which include Haim, Father John Misty, A$AP Rocky, King Chip & a slew of others. Overall this record will continue to stand the test of time as Cudi most underrated album, and thanks to 'SBTH' it won't be going down as his worst in anyone's eyes.
